Can a commercial Modular Building Have 2 Stories or More?
Yes, commercial modular buildings can be multiple stories. Advances in modular construction technology and design have made it possible to stack modular units on top of one another, creating multi-story buildings that can serve various purposes, from office spaces and hotels to schools and healthcare facilities.
Multi-story modular buildings adhere to the same building codes and regulations as traditional construction and can offer benefits such as reduced construction time, cost efficiency, and flexibility in design. Proper planning, engineering, and adherence to local building codes and standards are essential for the successful implementation of multi-story modular constructions. Additionally, considerations for structural integrity, accessibility, fire safety, and egress must be meticulously integrated into the design and construction phases to ensure the safety and functionality of the building.
Thanks Richard. I recall a lot of modular building work done by Nick Rocco.
Two story modular buildings are gaining popularity and many schools and universities are cathcing on to the trend.
Helpful to see this. We installed several two story modular classrooms in Los Angeles in the 90's. The school district was out of space and could only go up – not out. Nick Rocco was the contractor…best in the business.
